G: Management-related circumstances
Governance
The G (Governance) in ESG focuses on governance-related matters within corporate conduct, for example corporate culture, protection of whistleblowers, anti-corruption, or political engagement. The G therefore covers the systems, rules, and processes that ensure effective management, accountability, and transparency in an organisation. The focus here is therefore on how decisions are made, how the company’s objectives are set, and how risks are managed.
Mette Neville is a Professor and Centre Director for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises at the Department of Management at Aarhus University. Through a series of videos, she goes in depth with the G, the frameworks that exist for reporting for SMEs, and how you as an SME can work strategically with the G from a business perspective, so you can create value through your work with governance.
